My Story

Hi there, I’m Emma and I’ve been a beekeeper for several years both in London and Corsham in Wiltshire, where I now live with my husband, dog and cat. One of the reasons we moved was so that I could pursue my dream of keeping bees in our garden.

I keep some hives at home and others at an apiary close by. Both locations are surrounded by countryside and the variety of flora is plentiful which gives the honey fantastic flavour.

Beekeeping is a passion for me. I love my bees – each and every one of them – and make sure that they are well looked after. To ensure that I am up to date with current practices and also improve my knowledge, I have completed several BBKA accredited courses and exams and belong to a local beekeeping association where I help with the education of other beekeepers. I am looking forward to taking further qualifications in the future.

Beekeeping is my thing but my husband helps by making sure that there are lots of bee friendly plants in our garden. He also helps with some heavy lifting. He’s not a fan of flying bees, especially when he’s mowing the lawn but looking after them is definitely a team effort.
